These terms are an agreement between you and Creatorium Labs ("we", "us") about your use of Apartment Chaos and the online services we run for it (together, "the game"). By installing or playing the game you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not play.

You also use the game under the Steam Subscriber Agreement of Valve Corporation. If these terms and Valve's terms conflict about Steam itself (your Steam account, payments, refunds through Steam), Valve's terms apply. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and is part of these terms.

1. Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough under Steam's rules and the law where you live. If you are under the age of majority, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms. The game has open voice and text chat with other players.

2. Your licence

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the game on computers you control, for your own non-commercial entertainment, as long as you follow these terms.

You may stream and record the game and earn money from your videos and streams. We appreciate a link to the game's Steam page.

You may not:

  • copy, sell, rent or sublicense the game, or distribute it outside Steam;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or modify the game's code or files, except where the law allows it and cannot be excluded;
  • use cheats, bots, automation, exploits or modified clients, or interfere with our servers or other players' connections;
  • extract or reuse the game's art, music or models outside fair personal use such as videos and streams.

The game, its code, art, sounds, characters and names belong to us or our licensors. Some parts are licensed from third parties under their own terms.

3. Online play

Online play needs an internet connection and our servers. We try to keep them running but do not promise that they will always be available, that a match will not be interrupted, or that the online service will run forever. We may update, change or remove game features, maps, roles and modes. If we ever decide to shut down the online service, we will announce it at least 60 days in advance.

4. How to behave

Apartment Chaos is a social deduction game: lying about your role inside a match is part of the game. Harassing people is not. You agree not to:

  • harass, threaten, bully or discriminate against other players, in voice, text or your player name;
  • share other people's personal information, or ask players for theirs;
  • post sexual, hateful or illegal content, or spam;
  • impersonate our staff or other players;
  • deliberately ruin matches for others (for example, throwing matches with friends, leaving on purpose to stop a match, or revealing roles from outside the game);
  • break the law.

You are responsible for what you say and type. We do not record voice or store chat, but other players can report you, and we may act on reports, server data and our own observations.

5. Moderation and penalties

We may warn, mute, temporarily ban or permanently ban players, remove offensive names, and apply waiting penalties to players who repeatedly leave online matches early. Penalties are applied to your player ID. If you think a decision is wrong, write to info@creatorium.org and we will review it.

6. Coins, items and purchases

  • Coins are an in-game currency you earn by playing and, if available, buy through Steam. Coins and items unlock cosmetic content only and do not change the rules of a match.
  • Coins and items are a licence to use content in the game. They are not money, have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be sold or transferred outside the game.
  • Purchases are processed by Steam. Steam's refund policy applies. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, we may remove the coins it added; if they have already been spent, your balance may go negative until you earn them back.
  • We may change prices and the content of the in-game shop. We will not remove items you already own without a good reason, such as a legal requirement, fraud or a refund.
  • EU and EEA consumers: by buying coins you ask for them to be delivered immediately, and you accept that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once they are added to your account.
  • If we shut down the online service, coins and online items stop working; we will give notice as described in section 3.

7. Your content

Your player name, chat messages and any feedback you send are your own. You give us a free, worldwide licence to relay, display and use them as needed to run the game, moderate it and improve it. If you send feedback or suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

8. Ending these terms

You can stop at any time by uninstalling the game. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if the law requires it. Sections 2 (ownership), 6, 9, 10 and 11 continue to apply after these terms end.

9. Warranty

The game is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no other promises, for example that it will be free of bugs or suitable for a particular purpose. If you are a consumer, you keep the rights the law gives you that cannot be excluded, including your rights for digital content that does not conform to the contract.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss you could have avoided, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the game and in-game purchases in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Danish law. Disputes go to the Danish courts. If you are a consumer living in the EU or EEA, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and can bring a claim in your own country's courts.

12. Changes

We may update these terms when the game or the law changes. We will change the effective date above and, for important changes, tell players in the game or on the Steam page. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply.
